Curt Covington
Curt is responsible for managing the $18.3 billion ag loan portfolio for Farmer Mac, the nation’s premier secondary market for agricultural credit that was created to increase access to and reduce the cost of capital for the benefit for the benefit of American agriculture and rural communities. Curt’s extensive experience in ag lending spans nearly four decades and his passion for rural America developed at a young age on his family’s grape and tree nut farm in the farming community of Selma, California. He earned his undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Southern California and his Masters in Agribusiness from Santa Clara University.

 

 

Paul Neiffer, CPA, Principal, CliftonLarsonAllen LLP
Paul NeifferPaul Neiffer is an Agribusiness Certified Public Accountant and business advisor specializing in income taxation, accounting services, and FSA planning related to farmers and processors. Paul Neiffer graduated from the University of Washington with a Business Administration Degree (concentration accounting) in March, 1983 and has also completed various upper level income taxation classes sponsored by Golden Gate University. Paul is also the primary contributor to the Farmcpatoday.com blog and is past president of the Farm Financial Standards Council.

 

 

LaVell Winsor, farmer, marketing and finance consultant
LaVell WinsorLaVell Winsor is a farmer, marketing and farm finance consultant based in Kansas. Over the past 20 years she has worked with farmers on finances, commodity marketing and business analysis.  A significant amount of her time is spent working with Kansas State University’s Farm Analyst program. Earlier in her career LaVell spent several years in the grain industry, working with farmers on risk management. LaVell and her husband, Andy, raise soybeans, corn and wheat with his parents near Topeka, KS. She earned a Bachelor of Science in AgriBusiness from Colorado State University.

 

 


Mick Porter, Vice President of Credit,
Farm Credit Services of America
Mick PorterMick Porter leads the North Retail Credit Team for Frontier Farm Credit and Farm Credit Services of America.  Mick began his career in 2001 as an AgDirect Inside Sales Representative serving equipment dealerships across Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming.  Mick also served as a Credit Analyst in both the Agribusiness Finance and Regional Credit Teams.  He became a Financial Officer in the Red Oak, Iowa Retail Office before moving back to Omaha in 2006 where he served as a Credit Analyst and then a Large Producer Underwriter.  In 2015 Mick began leading the Retail Credit Team that provides credit underwriting for South Dakota, Northeast Nebraska and Northwest Iowa for Frontier Farm Credit and Farm Credit Services of America.  Mick is graduated from University of Nebraska with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness and Ag Economics.
